Since 1903, Katoomba Christian Convention (KCC) has been serving the church of Jesus Christ by hosting Bible teaching conventions that "magnify every Christian's desire to live up to their true calling: holiness."
BASECAMP is the men's ministry of KCC, with events in the Blue Mountains (4-5 August 2017) and Sydney (12 August 2017).
We appreciate that there are many competing demands on the church calendar, and many possible events to promote throughout the year. However, we believe that by God's grace BASECAMP will not only greatly benefit the men of your church, but also their wives, children, ministries, workplaces and communities.

1. Hear the Bible applied to the lives of men.
God's word is "useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." BASECAMP is an opportunity to focus the application of God's word on the challenges and opportunities that men experience. In 2017, Simon Manchester will preach on the theme: "Foolproof: The Practical Wisdom of Proverbs".
2. Sit under God's word together.
As a pastor, BASECAMP is not only an opportunity for you to be fed from God's word, but also to be fed alongside the men from your church. Listen, discuss and share together - as Christian brothers running the race together.
3. Get practical wisdom at Build Up.
In these 12-minute talks, mature Christian men share practical wisdom from personal experience for living all of life for Christ's glory. Last year, topics included dealing with anger, memorising Scripture, loving your wife, navigating the temptations of sex and power, serving in church, helping a friend who is suffering, and more. You can watch past talks from Build Up here.
4. Build strong relationships.
BASECAMP provides a space for men to spend much-needed time together. During breaks and travelling to and from the event, men share their lives and their struggles and develop friendships that will help them to stand firm.
5. Meet with thousands of other brothers.
It is a great encouragement for men to meet with their brothers all ages, stages, vocations, locations and denominations. In 2016, BASECAMP welcomed men from 18 denominations and 287 churches. BASECAMP is a rich community and a reminder of the larger church that Jesus has bought us into.
